SARNIA – Adding a pure athlete to the roster.
Caleb Rosseel has officially committed to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2026 season, and beyond.
Rosseel is the eighth member of the 2026 recruiting class for Bezaire and company, adding to what’s already a talent-laden group of players joining the program in the fall. Rosseel joins a list of incoming recruits that features the likes of Braydon Mann (Strathroy, Ont.), Ryan Hubbard (Mitchell, Ont.), Nolan Grimes (Strathroy, Ont.), Kyle Peterson (Whitby, Ont.), Parker Needham (Wyoming, Ont.), Dylan Salter (Granton, Ont.), and Brock Lane (Port Lambton, Ont.).
“I’m just excited that I was able to make my commitment official beside Brock and with my family here,” said Rosseel. “I’m looking forward to the road trips and just getting to know the guys on the team throughout the year.”
Rosseel, a six-foot first baseman and outfielder, joins the program after attending Sarnia’s St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, thus joining a lengthy list of former Fighting Irish student-athletes to stay at home and compete for the Lions in the OCAA across various sports.
Rosseel currently plays for the Port Lambton Pirates 22U Program.
Bezaire is excited about the raw ability that Rosseel brings to the roster, with his ability to play at multiple positions while possessing a strong bat at the plate.
“Caleb is just a plain old athlete,” said Bezaire. “He can do everything well.”
“He can hit for power, has great speed, and can track any ball down in the outfield. We hope he can come in and compete for a starting left-field spot. His athleticism also lends him the ability to play first base or contribute at DH as well.”
Academically, Rosseel will be no stranger to Lambton College as he gets set to enter his second year of the Millwright Mechanical Technician Program.
Rosseel and Lane made their commitments official on the same day inside the Cestar Group Athletics & Fitness Complex. Bezaire has known both Caleb and Brock since they were kids, and he’s thrilled to have them both on his roster moving ahead at Lambton.
“The talent we picked up today is one thing, but I am always so happy to continue to add great people and character who come from great families to our culture here,” added Bezaire. “I’ve known these young men for a long time, and you couldn’t ask for better people and teammates.”
“They both come in wanting to do whatever they can to help the club win. There is no doubt in my mind we made a really good incoming 2026 team even better today and for the next few seasons. I cannot wait to see these guys on the field.”
Rosseel joins a Lions program that is coming off a 2025 season that saw the program bring home its second consecutive medal at the OCAA Championships. The Lions posted a 12-6 record in the regular season, winning the regular season title for the first time in the program’s brief history.
They were the 2025 OCAA Bronze Medalists, and the 2024 OCAA Silver Medalists.
Heading into 2026, the bulk of their roster is expected to return for another run at an OCAA Championship. The addition of Rosseel to the mix gives the program another strong option at first base, and in the outfield, helping to plug some holes after losing players to graduation at those spots last year. He also adds another strong bat to the lineup.
Welcome to The Den, Caleb!
