SARNIA – Adding a local arm to the mix for the future.
Parker Needham has officially committed to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2026 season, and beyond.
Needham is the fifth member of the 2026 recruiting class for Bezaire and his coaching staff. He joins a talented list of incoming recruits that features the likes of Braydon Mann (Strathroy, Ont.), Ryan Hubbard (Mitchell, Ont.), Nolan Grimes (Strathroy, Ont.), and Kyle Peterson (Whitby, Ont.).
“I’m super excited to be part of a good program,” said Needham. “I’ve heard nothing but good things about the coaching and the guys on the team, so I’m looking forward to it and meeting new people on the team.”
“When I took my tour here, it almost felt like home for me. There were a lot of nice people, a lot of great teachers, so I kind of knew that it was the one as soon as I got here.”
Needham, a six-foot pitcher and third baseman, comes to Lambton College from Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute in Wyoming. Outside of high school, Needham plays baseball with the Wyoming Wranglers 18U program.
In addition to baseball, Needham also tends the crease on the ice. He plays for the LCCVI Lancers Senior Boys hockey team, as well as the Petrolia Oilers U18 team.
For Bezaire, he’s excited about the potential that Needham brings to the Lions program, both immediately and into the future.
“We are excited to add yet another player from the small, local baseball factory of Wyoming,” said Bezaire. “Parker comes very highly recommended from a handful of highly respected baseball people in our community.”
“With a very strong returning core we are looking for recruits who can complement, push, and compete with players for playing time. We also are looking for guys to become the 'next core' of Lambton ballplayers in the seasons to come beyond 2026, and we feel that Parker has a strong chance to be that type of player for us. With Parker joining our other top notch 2026 recruits we are laying a very strong foundation for not only 2026 but for seasons to come.”
This offseason, Needham has been working with Brett Gray to strengthen both his pitching and hitting abilities. Bezaire recently attended one of their training sessions, saying he only needed to see a few pitches and a few swings to see the potential that Needham had, and that he could help make the team stronger this season and in the long run.
Looking ahead to September and the start of the 2026 season, Needham is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead at Lambton.
“I think it will be different, but it will be a good change,” added Needham. “I’m excited to meet a lot of new people, see a lot of new faces around, and try to help our team win on the diamond.”
“I’m hardworking. I like to have fun with all my teammates. So, I try to be a good guy, both on and off the field.”
Academically, Needham will be enrolled in the Border Services Program at Lambton College.
Needham joins a Lions program that is coming off a 2025 season that saw the program bring home its second consecutive medal at the OCAA Championships. The Lions posted a 12-6 record in the regular season, winning the regular season title for the first time in the program’s brief history.
They were the 2025 OCAA Bronze Medalists, and the 2024 OCAA Silver Medalists.
Heading into 2026, the bulk of their roster is expected to return for another run at an OCAA Championship. The addition of Needham on the mound gives the Lions another strong and reliable arm, while his ability to play the infield gives the team another element of versatility as they set their sights on another podium finish.
