SARNIA – Locked in the lefty on the mound.
Pitcher Dylan Salter has officially committed to Head Coach Al Bezaire and the Lambton Men’s Baseball Program for the 2026 season, and beyond.
Salter is the sixth member of a talented 2026 recruiting class for Bezaire and company on the diamond. Salter joins an incoming crop of recruits that features the likes of Braydon Mann (Strathroy, Ont.), Ryan Hubbard (Mitchell, Ont.), Nolan Grimes (Strathroy, Ont.), Kyle Peterson (Whitby, Ont.), and Parker Needham (Wyoming, Ont.).
“I’m very excited to get started,” said Salter. “I’m very happy to join a new team and for this opportunity to play for Lambton.”
“I’m looking forward to just ballin’ out, having fun on the field. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, making new friends, and developing strong connections with my teachers and coaches.”
Salter, a six-foot-one left-handed pitcher, comes to Lambton College from Medway High School in Arva, just north of London.
Outside of high school, Salter plays for the Ontario Nationals program.
For Bezaire, the addition of another lefthander on the mound is a key addition to the roster, and one that’s eluded the program until now.
“Whenever you can add a player from the best amateur league in Ontario (CPBL) and a left-handed pitcher at that, you do it,” said Bezaire. “Dylan has exactly what we look for first in all recruits, the ability to be a great teammate.”
“In my meetings with Dylan, he has come across as a quiet, humble, and great kid, and someone who will naturally fit in with his new teammates. We look forward to him continuing his reputation of being a hard worker and battling the other arms on the club for some high-leverage innings on the mound for us. I am really looking forward to seeing what Dylan, and all our recruits, can bring to this club in September.”
While he’ll be a newcomer with the program, Salter will have a level of familiarity with many of his new teammates, none more than with one of his fellow commits this season. Salter is cousins with Parker Needham, adding another family element to a roster that already features two sets of twins.
Early on in his recruitment, Salter had the feeling that Lambton was the place for him to continue his academic and athletic journeys.
“At the Open House when I first came to Lambton, it just felt like it was me,” added Salter. “I really liked the vibe around here.”
“It just felt very comforting and very welcoming (from the start).”
Academically, Salter will be enrolled in the Sports & Recreation Management Program at Lambton College.
Salter joins a Lions program that is coming off a 2025 season that saw the program bring home its second consecutive medal at the OCAA Championships. The Lions posted a 12-6 record in the regular season, winning the regular season title for the first time in the program’s brief history.
They were the 2025 OCAA Bronze Medalists, and the 2024 OCAA Silver Medalists.
Heading into 2026, the bulk of their roster is expected to return for another run at an OCAA Championship. The addition of Salter on the mound gives the Lions another strong and reliable arm, and one that throws from the left side, giving the team some versatility on the mound when it comes to matchups with opposing hitters.
Welcome to The Den, Dylan!
