Week in Review: Sept 18th-24th

It was a busy week of sports for Lambton College teams.

Our men's and women's soccer teams suited up for three games each, the men's baseball team travelled to Peterborough for a pair of exhibition matchups, and our men's basketball team held their 7th Annual Green & White Game all in the past seven days.

On the pitch, our women's team dropped a 5-0 decision to Fanshawe mid-week, and then lost games 2-1 to Niagara and 3-0 to Mohawk on the weekend. Cassie Forte scored for the Lions against Niagara.

Our men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Fanshawe on Wednesday and then 3-0 to Niagara and 1-0 to Mohawk on the weekend. Both teams are no 0-5 on the season. They return to action this coming week with the Falcons travelling to Sarnia.

The men's baseball team traveled to Peterborough for matchups with Fleming and Durham colleges. Paul Sheeler pitched the win as the Lions defeated Fleming 10-2. Richard McIntosh, Kody Croteau, McKenzie Maxwell, Sheeler, Dawson Feenstra, Brady Noyle, Dan McGonigle and Tyler Johnson all had hits and scored for the Lions. The team then dropped a 7-2 decision to Durham to finish out the day. Feenstra and Noyle each had RBI with Maxwell connection for two hits, including a triple.

Things got going for the men's basketball team on the weekend as well as the team hosted its 7th Annual Green & White game. The veterans defeated the freshman on the night. Bruno Panda led all scored with 23 points. The Lions travel to Kingston this weekend to take part in the Vikings Invitational at St. Lawrence.
